Travel Tips for Visiting Korea!

1. Internet

  • Many places offer FREE Wi-Fi, including the airport, hotels, and cafés.

  • Purchasing a SIM card or eSIM at the airport is recommended for navigation and communication on the self-tour day(Day 5) or during emergencies.

    Location: LG U+ Korea SIM & eSIM (Incheon Int'l Airport Terminal 2)

    Dentium staff will help you locate at the airport!

2. Power Outlets

  • Korea uses Type C and Type F plugs (220V).

  • Travelers from the U.S. will need a plug adapter.

  • Adapters are available at airport convenience stores.

    Location: 7-Eleven convenience store(Incheon Int'l Airport Terminal 2)

    Dentium staff will help you locate at the airport!

3. Payment

  • Credit cards are widely accepted.

  • However, small shops or markets may prefer cash, and some foreign credit cards may not work at smaller businesses, so we recommend having cash with you.

  • Currency is WON(KRW). Roughly $1 equals ₩1,500.

  • ATMs that accept foreign cards are usually located in convenience stores and airport.

    Dentium staff will help you locate at the airport!

4. Passport & Identification

  • Always keep your passport with you or in a secure place.

  • Some places offer tax refunds for tourists, which may require your passport.

5. Transportation

  • Public transportation is very convenient.

  • A T-money transportation card can be used for subway, buses, and some taxis.

    T-money card can be purchased at any convenience store (ex. CU, GS25, 7-Eleven)

  • Uber App is also available.

6. Helpful Apps

These apps are useful in Korea:

  • Naver Map – best navigation in Korea

  • KakaoMap – alternative navigation app

  • Google Translate – translation app

  • Uber

  • Currency converter app

7. Weather & Clothing

Typical Weather (Early April) - 40–65°F (5–18°C).

Recommended Clothing:

  • Light Jacket or Coat

    Spring jacket, trench coat, or light coat, Mornings and evenings can feel chilly

  • Layered Clothing

    Long-sleeve shirts or sweaters

  • Comfortable Walking Shoes

    Expect moderate walking during tours, sneakers or comfortable walking shoes are best
